Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
US actor Finn, who was seen in popular television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
