Star Denies Anti-Vaxxer Views After Narrating Contentious Covid Documentary

Liam Neeson has given his narration to a new documentary that questions the safety of vaccinations and commends former health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Feature's Provocative Foundation

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a bestselling book published by a controversial scientist, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for claims that the illness was linked to a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

Her collaborator, the executive producer, has also written books with controversial figure a known commentator. Heckenlively wrote online celebrating Neeson's participation in the project.

A Strong Rebuttal

A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have released a comment strongly denying suggestions that he holds anti-vax sentiments.

"Many recognize that misconduct may occur within the medical sector, but that cannot be equated to opposition to vaccines," the response reads. "Liam is not, and cannot be described as, against vaccines. His extensive work with Unicef underscores his enduring support for global immunisation initiatives."

The response continued that the performer had no hand in the documentary's messaging and that concerns about its content ought to go to the creators.

Major Claims In the Film

According to the documentary, the narration read by Neeson features several controversial claims:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
  • It posits that "research has become dangerously politicised."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they are not properly vetted."
  • It also criticizes pandemic restrictions, saying they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."

Previous Context and Ongoing Issues

The documentary includes a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the subject of a correction by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Recently, the political figure instructed the CDC to change its official position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is repeated in the documentary, contrary to a new report from the global health body confirming no connection has been found.

An Earlier Position of Advocacy

Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has in the past expressed strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible triumph," noting that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."

The documentary concludes with Neeson's script saying, "This marks not the finish of our journey. It is the beginning of a new chapter."
