The Red Devils Poised to Sign Germany Striker Lea Schüller away from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific German forward Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer away from Bayern Munich.
A Major Acquisition for the WSL Side
Schüller, who has half a year remaining on her contract, is known as a prolific goalscorer for her club and the national team. She has scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 appearances for Germany. This signing is viewed as a marquee coup for the WSL team.
Her exit from Munich has been anticipated after she appeared to be holding back emotions while thanking the German club’s fans following a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
It was reported in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was losing one of its leading forwards. According to reports, the formalities for the move have now been completed.
Reliable Goalscoring to Boost United's Attack
The experienced striker's arrival is expected to provide a significant boost to United’s attacking options. She has been remarkably consistent in front of goal in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven straight seasons, up to and including the last term, she achieved at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Securing the German international coincides with a period when the club appear to be building positive momentum.
Their recent on-pitch successes include qualifying for the Champions League knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a win in the League Cup quarter-finals.

- The signing of Sweden defender Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal.
- The new deal for Japan midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since joining in 2023.
On the midfielder's extension, a senior figure commented: “She has become a vital component to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and technical ability enables her and the team to dominate play from central areas.”
Lundkvist, who has arrived from a club in the American league, added: “You can feel how much they [United] have grown in the last few years, competing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and now featuring in the Champions League.”
